Our Chef

Chindi Varadarajulu, the Creative Chef of Pumpkin Tales, is a fan of traditional recipes, authentic flavours and preservative-free cooking. Originally from Singapore and then Vancouver, when Chindi moved to Chennai she missed her breakfast staple of American coffee and croissants. So she decided to set up a restaurant that would serve both (and a whole lot more!) in the ever-changing food space in Chennai! With 25+ years in the restaurant industry, every day is a culinary adventure with Chindi!

Slow Food does not mean your food is slow to cook! It just means we spend longer finding the freshest produce from as close to home as possible!

The Slow Food philosophy places emphasis on preserving traditional recipes and age-old, minimally processed styles of cooking – going back to using techniques and ingredients that have long been forgotten. Our menu incorporates the Slow Food Philosophy – our ingredients are sourced locally and sustainably to ensure that only the freshest, most delicious, and healthful dishes make it to your table. We avoid preservatives and canned food and make everything fresh, everyday, using the highest quality produce and traditional cooking methods.

It turned out to be such a great find ! Location and service is great 🙂 I tried their Tuesday special Taco (tofu avocado taco) and their cold chocolate..both tasted simply outstanding ! The cold chocolate was probably the best I have ever had ! The next time you make plans with friends, this should be your choice !

If you love organic food and support negative carbon footprint this is your place. From an all women staffing comes some of the best culinary experiences ever. With some of the finest ingredients money can buy and giving each ingredient the respect it deserves, they flavours are fresh and unspoilt by ensuring nothing is overcooked. Loved the experience!

The perfect place to do one of those late Sunday breakfasts that extend to a comforting lunch. The menu is exquisitely curated with a warm staff. Started with some hearty breakfast bowls and ended with a clean, long island green tea. The in between can be just about anything you want it to be. The Poke Bowl left me smiling 🙂
